Planning a School Visit

The Silk Mill is the only working textile mill in the south of England and offers unique learning opportunities in cross-curricular activities for KS 1-4

You can choose a practical 2 hour session led by our education officer or curriculum based activities devised by you or suggested by us, depending on the needs of your group.

Education Officer led visit

£3.50 per pupil: weaving,fabric testing & Victorians£5.50 per pupil:silk painting & felting Minimum charges of £35 and 55

All accompanying adults free

Max group size 30 plus accompanying adults

We recommend a visit led by our Education Officer (Click here for full details of Educational Activities). We treat each group as unique and the content of each visit is adapted to meet the needs of your specific group.

Open all year Tuesday - Sunday 10.30 - 5.00 (except Christmas week) and all Bank Holiday Mondays.
