Whitchurch Silk Mill Education

Victorian machinery is in use today weaving fine silk fabrics and ribbons for interior design, fashion and theatre.

The waterwheel has been powered by the fast running waters of the River Test for over 100 years and can be seen in operation all year round.

With an Education Officer on site, school and other groups are welcome to this unique venue. Visits are tailored to your requirements and can include history of the site, weaving, textiles and hands-on craft activities. Although access is restricted for people with limited mobility, we welcome groups with special needs.
