History of Whitchurch Silk Mill

The mill was built in 1800 and began to weave silk in the 1820s. It is still weaving silk fabric on historic machinery today. The mill converted to powered machinery in 1891, with power supplied by a new waterwheel. Both looms and waterwheel are in operation today.
